- Rangoli Exhibition on Diwali
The ‘Kirti Mandir’ is a magnificent structure located near the picturesque Vishwamitra Bridge in the city. It was commissioned by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III to honor his beloved ancestors. Also known as the Temple of Fame, this architectural marvel was constructed in 1936 as part of the Maharaja’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Vadodara, often referred to as the cultural capital of Gujarat, is renowned for its diverse cultural activities. In 1985, a group of Rangoli artists from Vadodara, formerly known as Baroda, came together to form the SWASTIK RANGOLI KALAKAR GROUP. Since its inception, the group has organized numerous Rangoli exhibitions in various cities. One of the main highlights of these exhibitions is the display of Rangolis at Kirti Mandir Vadodara, which has been a tradition since 1993 on the auspicious day of Diwali. Visitors from far and wide flock to witness the mesmerizing display of Contemporary Rangolis depicting various subjects such as portraits, figures, landscapes, seascapes, still-life, and wildlife. The artistry of the SWASTIK RANGOLI KALAKAR GROUP is truly unique, with their creations including water Rangolis, underwater Rangolis, and even moving Rangolis. Their Rangoli art has captivated the hearts of many, receiving appreciation from both national and international media outlets.
