Recognized as a government-approved Export House, the company exports dye-intermediates to various countries including Switzerland, Hong Kong, Germany, the US, and Italy. Notable foreign clients include Dolder in Switzerland, Chemag in Germany, American Fine Chemicals Company in the US, Peekay Chemicals in Canada, and Ve Co Tex SRL in Italy.
In 1977, manufacturing activities began at the Thane Belapur unit to produce vat dyes such as vat indigo, vat brown RID, and vat blue 2B, primarily for the textile industry. Although manufacturing activities were temporarily suspended in 1984-85, they resumed in 1991 at Palghar to produce blue B base with a capacity of 24 tpa.
In April 1995, the company conducted a public issue at a premium of Rs 10, with the proceeds utilized to partially finance a Rs 3.72-cr project aimed at capacity expansion and infrastructure acquisition. In 1996, the company expanded its operations to include pigment manufacturing, with a total cost of Rs. 2.00 crores.
The company officially changed its name from 'Vipul Dyechem Limited' to 'Vipul Organics Limited' on July 19, 2016. Additionally, in 2019-20, operations commenced at the Tarapur facility. The Scheme of Amalgamation of Efferchem Pvt. Ltd. with the Company became effective on June 26, 2020, resulting in the transfer of all assets and liabilities of Efferchem Pvt. Ltd. to the Company. As per the scheme, 18,25,000 new fully paid-up Equity Shares of Rs. 10/- each were allotted to the shareholders of Efferchem Pvt. Ltd. on June 30, 2020.
