Sun Retail Limited was initially established as a private limited company under the name 'ShivJosh Foods Private Limited' on May 28, 2007. Later, on December 7, 2007, the company underwent a name change to become Sun Retail Private Limited. With its conversion to a public limited company on December 21, 2017, the company's name was further modified to 'Sun Retail Limited.' The primary focus of the company lies in trading refined/filtered edible oils, with major products such as cottonseed oil, groundnut oil, and sunflower oil. Additionally, the company engages in bulk trading activities involving palmolein oil and soyabean oil. The products are marketed under the well-established brand names 'Dharti' and 'Dharti Singtel,' widely recognized and accepted in the Gujarat region. Sun Retail Limited has entered into agreements to acquire land, along with an entire unit located at Plot no. GI-21 & 22, Mandar Industrial Area, Mandar, Tehsil Reodar, Dist. Sirohi, Rajasthan, spanning an area of 2000 square meters with a constructed steel shed. Furthermore, the company has also entered into an agreement to acquire business assets, including land, machinery, fixtures, and superstructure, from TJR Agrocom Private Limited, the holding company of the promoters. The acquisition aims to facilitate the establishment of a crushing plant for groundnut seeds, catering to the company's captive consumption.
