The company's founder, Mr. Mafatlal Patel, established Mangalam Seeds Corporation as a proprietorship concern in 2003, envisioning it to become the preferred seed brand in India for various crops. With the support of agricultural scientist Dr. I.D. Patel and extensive research and development efforts, the concern transitioned from a proprietorship to a partnership in 2007. Recognizing the growth potential in the seed industry and already having developed several hybrids through continuous research, the promoters decided to incorporate the company as 'Mangalam Seeds Limited' in 2011.

Research seeds are high-quality seeds produced through intensive research, whereas hybrid seeds are developed through open and cross-pollination processes. The products are marketed under different brand names such as Eklavya, Volina, Leetos, and Juddo. The company has obtained 15 trademarks and has applied for 65 more to protect these brand names and logos. The company's production mechanism involves liaising and contracting with individual farmers, and it operates a well-equipped processing plant, three packaging units, and storage facilities spanning 21,000 square feet in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Research and development are the cornerstone of the company's growth strategy, and it owns R&D farms covering approximately 29.25 acres for research activities. Additionally, the company invests in state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology, including two greenhouses, two open poly houses, and adequate tube wells for uninterrupted water supply.
