The company serves customers primarily in Turkey, China, Russia, the Middle East, Germany, and the United States through its export activities. Additionally, it is involved in the development of residential, commercial, and township properties. Konark Synthetic Limited, headquartered in Mumbai, India, was established in 1984 and is led by its promoters Prakash Dalmia and Ram Niranjan Tibrewala.
Konark Synthetics (KSL) initially went public in 1989 with an equity issue to fund its expansion plans, which included establishing two additional units for air texturizing and fancy twisting in Silvassa and Palghar respectively. The company acquired air texturizing technology and machinery from Japanese AIKI as part of its expansion strategy. Furthermore, there are plans for a new export-oriented unit for manufacturing terry towels, along with an expansion project for projectile shuttleless weaving technology.
Despite facing challenges such as labor disputes and fluctuating market conditions, including decreased sales realization and increased input costs, Konark Synthetic Limited has remained resilient. The company, formerly known as Konarak Synthetics Limited, underwent a name change to Konark Synthetic Limited in April 1995.
