Goldcoin Health Foods began its journey as a private limited company in March 1989 before transitioning to a public limited company in March 1995. Its inception was spearheaded by Devang P Shah, Kishor J Shah, and Rakesh R Sheth. Primarily focused on trading food products, especially in the domain of milk, the company undertakes the collection of raw materials and their supply to major dairies for further processing into finished goods. Operating from its manufacturing facilities in Vasana, Gujarat, with an initial installed capacity of 1050 tonnes per annum (tpa), the company primarily specializes in the production of biscuits. However, due to delays in plant and machinery installation, commercial production only commenced in March 1994. The biscuits are marketed under the brand names Amit and Biskis. In the fiscal year 1995-96, the company embarked on an expansion project aimed at increasing its capacity from 1050 tpa to 4200 tpa, encompassing the production of value-added therapeutic biscuits alongside conventional short dough, hard dough biscuits, and crackers. Post-expansion, the capacity for conventional biscuits stands at 3150 tpa, while that for high-protein biscuits is 1050 tpa. To fund this expansion and meet margin money requirements for working capital, the company conducted a public issue in December 1995. With a growing clientele base in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, Goldcoin Health Foods is steadily expanding its market presence.
