New Delhi, Veteran actress Zeenat Aman says it is logical for couples to live-in together before marriage to know if they are really compatible with each other.

According to the 72-year-old actor, his sons Zahaan and Azaan have also received the same advice from him.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, she described a live-in relationship as the "ultimate test".

"... one of you asked me about relationship advice in the comments section of a previous post. Here's a personal opinion I haven't shared before - if you're in a relationship, I strongly recommend I wish you live together before getting married!

“This is the same advice I have always given to my sons, both of whom are in live-in relationships. It seems logical to me that both men should first sort out their relationship before they include their family and the government in their equation. Gave it in the final exam,” Aman wrote.

The actor said that couples must figure out whether they will be able to make it work despite the "millions of little fights" that arise.

"It's easy to be the best version of yourself for a few hours a day. But can you share a bathroom? Face a storm of bad moods? Agree on what to eat for dinner every night? In the bedroom. Keep the fire burning?

"Work on the millions of little quirks that inevitably arise in close proximity between two people? In short - are you really compatible? I know Indian society is a little skeptical about 'living in sin' But still the society is confused about many things! Log kya kahenge? (What will people say?)" she added in the post.

Aman will be returning to the screen after five years with Manish Malhotra's production "Bun Tikki".
