The NPP said the attack on the dome caused no serious injuries or casualties and there was no risk of violating security limits, Xinhua news agency reported.

“The radiation background at the station and the surrounding area has not changed and is at the level corresponding to the normal operation of power units, and does not exceed natural background values,” the press service of the NPP said on Telegram.

The RIA Novosti news agency cited a statement from the International Atomic Energy Agency as saying that the agency's experts had been informed about the explosion. The head of the agency, Rafael Grossi, has called for measures to be taken to avoid any actions that could threaten the Zaporizhia NPP.

Earlier in the day, the power plant reported an attack in the canteen area, which damaged a truck unloading food.

It said the arrival of another drone was recorded in the cargo port area.

The press service said on Friday that the Zaporizhia NPP had recorded the arrival of several Ukrainian military drones at the nuclear facility in recent days.

Also on Friday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned Ukraine and its Western allies against attempts to attack or destabilize the Zaporizhia NPP.

Zaporizhia NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe and consists of six power units with a total capacity of 6 GW. In late February 2022, the facility was taken under Russian control.
