Chennai, YouTuber 'Savukku' Shankar, who is currently lodged in Coimbatore Centra jail, was detained under the Goondas Act on Sunday, Chennai city police said.
Based on the orders of Police Commissioner, Greater Chennai, Sandeep Ra Rathod, an order was given to arrest Shankar under the Goondas Act by the Cyber Crime (Chennai) Police Inspector on May 12, he said.
According to a police press note, Chennai Police has seven cases pending against Shankar in the Central Crime Branch/Cyber Crime, of which three are under investigation, chargesheet has been filed in two and the trial is pending on the remaining.
