The deceased was identified as Uday Rai, resident of Buddha Colony. H suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his head after being attacked by an unknown assailant.

Area residents and passers-by took him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), where doctors referred him to Ruban Hospital after initial treatment, but he died on the way.

SDPO, Law and Order Krishna Murari Prasad said that personal enmity has come to light during the preliminary investigation of the incident.

"The attackers came on a bike and shot him in the head from behind. He was first taken to PMCH, where doctors referred him to Ruban Hospital. He died on the way to Ruban Hospital," he said.

“We have taken statements of the family members of the deceased. They indicate to you personal enmity with another person. We have the names of some suspects. We are currently raiding their locations. He will be arrested soon."

An FIR has been registered at Buddha Colony police station and the body has been sent to PMCH for post-mortem.
