The deceased was identified as Shivraj Regar (22), son of Hazari Lal Regar, resident of Regar Basti of Bikawas area.
Shivraj, who worked at an e-Mitra shop and was addicted to sports betting, lost money, following which he withdrew Rs 70,000 from his parents' account but ultimately he also lost it.
Shivraj became worried after losing all the money. Fearing embarrassment, he hanged himself in his room on Wednesday night.
The incident took place when Hazari had gone to Jodhpur for some work and the rest of the family members were at the farm.
At around 7 pm, when Shivraj's wife came home from the farm, she saw her husband's dead body hanging in the room. He called the family and informed them about the incident.
Police were informed and the body was handed over to Shivraj's family after post-mortem on Thursday morning.
