Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (M) and Union Tourism Ministry organized Yoga at more than 50 tourist spots across the state, including UNESCO World Heritage sites Khajuraho and Sanchi Stupa.

As the theme of this year's Yoga Day was "Safe Tourist Destinations for Women", 5,000 women, including foreign tourists, participated in the Yoga Day celebrations at various tourist destinations.

Anurag Uike, head of MK's communication department, said, many of them visited a tourist destination for the first time and got the opportunity to tour the sites and also get acquainted with the glorious history and rich culture.

Uike said, "The aim was to motivate women towards tourism. Therefore, maximum number of women were invited to participate at each tourist destination. Also, so that they can become aware about the tourist destinations and Can inspire others to visit these picturesque and historical tourist places." Said.

He said that more than 10,000 women are being trained and connected to the tourism related service sector and 40,000 women and girls are being given self-defense training.

Along with women getting employment in the tourism sector, the feeling of comfort and security is also increasing among women tourists, especially solo female travelers.

Uike said that so far more than 8,000 women have been trained in 48 job roles in the tourism sector.
