Mumbai: A special court here on Friday granted bail to Yes Bank co-founder Ran Kapoor in a Rs 466.51 crore bank fraud case, paving the way for him to come out of jail after four years.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested Kapoor in March 2020 in a money laundering case, and has booked him in eight cases related to bank fraud.

The banker has now got bail in all the cases.

Kapoor's lawyer Rahul Aggarwal said that they are trying to complete all the formalities to ensure his release as soon as possible.

The court granted bail to Kapoor in the CBI case against him and Avant Group promoter Gautam Thapar for allegedly engaging in criminal conspiracy, breach of trust and forgery for misappropriation of public funds worth Rs 466.51 crore.
