Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Sunil Kamble, Chief Scientist, India Meteorological Department, said that a yellow alert of rain has been issued in Mumbai, Thane and Raigad areas for the coming two to three days.

Speaking to ANI on Wednesday, Sunil Kamble said, "The pace of rain in Mumbai had reduced a bit in the last 2-3 days, but now it is picking up pace. The monsoon current is strengthening moderately. We have given yellow alert in Mumbai, Thane and Raigarh areas for the coming 2-3 days.There is no alert in the rest of Maharashtra, but moderate rain will continue there too.

He further said that it is raining extensively in Mumbai at this time.

He further said, "Yellow alert has been given in many parts of Mumbai, Sindhudurg and Vidarbha. Mumbai is currently experiencing widespread rainfall with 50-60 mm of rainfall. During the onset of monsoon, fishermen should take precautions depending on the wind. But is kept on alert." There is currently a yellow alert over East Central Arabian Sea and West Central Arabian Sea, rainfall may be widespread till June 20-21 and heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected.The sky remained cloudy in Mumbai city on Wednesday and it rained in many parts of the city in the morning.

The temperature in Mumbai today was recorded at 28.65 degrees Celsius. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to remain around 33 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees respectively for the next two days.

IMD has issued yellow alert for Mumbai for today and tomorrow.

Neighboring cities like Raigarh, Ratnagiri and Pune will remain on yellow alert till June 23.

"Conditions are favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and northwest Bay of Bengal, parts of Gangetic West Bengal, remaining parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and .over parts of Bihar and Jharkhand during next 3-4 days,” the IMD said in its bulletin.
