The win in Stuttgart is Rybakina's eighth career title and third on clay after wins at Rome 2023 and Bucharest 2019. The 24-year-old has overtaken the German for the overall lead in titles this season, adding Stuttgart to a collection that also includes Brisbane and Abu Dhabi.

Rybakina ended world No. 1 Iga Swiatek's 10-match winning streak in Stuttgart with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 victory in the semi-finals to reach the final on Sunday.

Playing in her fifth final of the season, Rybakina broke Kostyuk's serve to open the match and never looked back. With skillful serving, Rybakina leading the aces serve took the first set after just 30 minutes. She lost only one point (15 out of 16) on her first serve and did not face a single break point. Rybakin won 30 points to Kostyuk's 17.

A confident Rybakina proved a bridge too far for Kostyuk, who produced a phenomenal week to make the final in Stuttgart in just her second year running. Kostyuk, amid the best season of her career, will reach a new career-high ranking of No. 21 on Monday.

Coming into the final with a 1-1 record against Rybakina, Kostyuk may have an edge against the world No. 4. Kostyuk made only six unforced errors in the first set, but Rybakina's baseline aggression drew 16 unforced errors.

Rybakina continued her momentum in the second set, sealing the win after one hour and nine minutes. He finished the match flawlessly, saving all three break points he faced.
