Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], Inspiring youth to take up wrestling as a sport, Himachal Pradesh Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that wrestling competitions are the identity of the tradition and culture of state.

Boileauganj Welfare Society Shimla organized a wrestling competition on Sunday. Vikramaditya Singh attended the event as the chief guest.

Vikramaditya Singh said, "Wrestling competitions are the identity of our culture. Wrestling has been organized in Boileauganj since 1969. Renowned wrestlers of the country come here. Nowadays, sports are very important for the youth, who are victims of drug addiction in the "These events provide a platform for the youth and also encourage the fighters."

He said to solve the problem of drinking water in Shimla, a project worth Rs. 1,200 crore was released during the tenure of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. "For this, a storage tank has been constructed at Peterhof, Shimla. Pressurized drinking water will soon be supplied from here. Through this project a separate arrangement has been made for pure water," he said.

During this, he announced that he would provide MLA fund of five lakh rupees for construction of stairs in Boileauganj district and sports ground. He said that apart from this, roads within the district will also be improved.

He announced that he will donate Rs 31,000 to the organizing committee of the wrestling fair.

He said the issues being faced regarding the land surrounding the land would be resolved soon. Additionally, high-mask lights will be installed on the ground. For this purpose, an estimated cost proposal will soon be made so that players can play at night.
