Vinesh, who had arrived in Madrid late after a last-minute appeal for a Spanish visa and was granted it just hours before her departure, entered the finals in the women's 50kg category by easily winning three bouts .

She will meet former Russian wrestler Maria Tiumerekova, who is now representing individual neutral athletes.

Vinesh, who will be competing at the Tokyo Olympic Games in the women's 53kg, started the day with a Round 1 win against Pan-American and Central American Championships winner Eusnelis Guzman of Cuba. Vinesh defeated the Cuban wrestler 12-4 on points.

In the quarterfinals, the 29-year-old from Charkhi Dadri, Haryana defeated Madison Parkes of Canada, a silver medalist at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. In the semi-finals, Vinesh defeated another Canadian player Katie Dutchak 9-4 and secured her place in the finals.

After the Spain Grand Prix, Vinesh will attend a camp in Spain and reach France much before the Paris Olympic Games starting from July 26.
