Indore: One of the three workers injured in the explosion at a firecracker factory in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh died in the hospital. Officials gave this information on Wednesday.

He said that the explosion took place on Tuesday afternoon in a shed-like structure in the factory located about five kilometers from Amba Chandan village near Indore.

All three injured laborers are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Rohit Parmanand (20), seriously injured in the blast, was put on life support. Dr. Amit Bhatt, Deputy Director (Health Services) of Choithram Hospital, said that he was in a state of shock after the incident and despite all efforts, he could not be saved.

He said that the condition of two other workers, Arjun Rathod (27) and Umesh Chauhan (29), who suffered serious burn injuries in the explosion, is currently stable.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Umakant Chaudhary said that the body of the deceased employee has been sent for post-mortem.

He said a case has been registered against the firecracker unit owner Mohammed Shakir Kha at Mhow police station under the Explosives Act as well as section 308 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The official said Khan is absconding after the blast and police have formed teams to search for him.

The blast took place when workers were busy making 'rope' bombs in a factory in a field in a forested area, about 25 km from Indore city.

A factory named 'Ali Fireworks' was run by Khan. Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Charanjit Singh Hooda said that although only 15 kg of gunpowder was allowed to be stored at a time in the factory, during inspection at the site it was found that much more quantity was stored there.
