Colombo, India will take on arch-rivals Pakistan on the opening day of the Women's T20 Asia Cup in Dambulla on July 19, while hosts Sri Lanka will play their first match against Bangladesh a day later, Sri Lanka Cricket announced on Friday.

Apart from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, the other four teams who are expected to reach the last-four stage are Thailand, UAE, Nepal and Malaysia.

India has been placed in Group A along with Pakistan, UAE and Nepal, while Group B includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Thailand.

A total of 15 games will be played including two semi-finals and a final.

"All games will be broadcast live on international platforms and the stadium will be open to the public with free admission to watch the games," the media release said.

The SLC Executive Committee and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) have jointly appointed Ravin Wickramaratne as the Tournament Director.

Wickramaratne, who is also the Vice President, said, "With the support of the Asian Cricket Council, Sri Lanka Cricket is planning to organize a very successful tournament, as a successful outcome of this tournament will help women's cricket to grow on the world stage " President of Sri Lanka Cricket.
