Ballia (UP): A 24-year-old woman threw toilet cleaner on a man's face during a pre-wedding function at a village here, police said on Wednesday.
He told that the accused Lakshmi reached the function carrying toilet cleaner in a plastic bag and threw it on the face of Rakesh Bind (26).
Police said that according to local people, Lakshmi had earlier had an affair with Rakesh and was angry with his marriage.
He told that both are residents of Chhitauni village of Bansdih Road police station area.
Police said that Rakesh suffered burn injuries in the incident and is undergoing treatment at a local hospital, while the accused has been taken into custody.
Police station in-charge Akhilesh Chandra Pandey said that on the complaint of the victim's mother Muni Devi, a case has been registered against Lakshmi under section 326B of the Indian Penal Code.
Police station in-charge Pandey said that the police is interrogating the accused but preliminary investigation has revealed that Lakshmi had thrown toilet cleaner on Rakesh.
