Mumbai: A woman was killed when a BMW car hit the two-wheeler she was traveling in with her husband in Mumbai's Worli area in the early hours of Sunday. A police officer gave this information.

The woman, identified as Kaveri Nakhwa (45), was traveling with her husband Pradeep on the main Annie Besant Road when the luxury car driver lost control, a Worli police station official said.

"Kaveri Nakhwa collapsed on the road. Passersby informed the police about the incident. She was taken to the civic-run Nair Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. Kaveri and her husband are fishermen and from Sassoon Dock in Colaba. "We were going home," he said.

A case has been registered against the driver of the car, Rajesh Shah, and another person, identified as Rajrishi Rajendrasinh Bidawat, and have been detained, a Worli police station official said.
