Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team conducted searches at various places in the last 24 hours in search of Bhavani Revanna, mother of suspended JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna in a woman kidnapping case, as she was not present at her residence in Holenarasipura. in Hassan district, sources said on Sunday.

The SIT had issued a notice to Bhavani asking her to be present at home on June 1 as she needed to be interrogated in the case related to the allegations of sexual exploitation against her son. When a team of SIT officials reached Bhavani's house 'Chennambika Nilaya', she was not present.

Two women lawyers reached 'Chennambika Nilaya' on Saturday evening and met SIT officials. He did not reveal the purpose behind this meeting.

It is learned that Bhavani had informed through her lawyers that she is unwell and will appear before them shortly.

Bhavani's husband and Holenarasipura JD(S) MLA HD Revanna is on bail in the same case.The SIT conducted searches at various places including Mysuru, Hassan, Bengaluru, Mandya and Ramanagara. Sources said that searches were also conducted at the houses of Bhavani's relatives to trace her, but she was not found.

Sources said that SIT has formed several teams to search for Bhavani.

The JD(S) first family, especially former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda's son HD Revanna, his wife Bhavani and son Prajwal, are in shock after several candid videos surfaced on April 21 and Prajwal, who is from Hassan Lok Demanding re-election. As an NDA candidate, he ran away from the assembly constituency and went to Germany.The Karnataka government formed the SIT to investigate the cases against Prajwal on the recommendation of Karnataka State Women's Commission Chairperson Nagalakshmi Choudhary, who had written to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to investigate the matter.

Prajwal, facing sexual assault charges, returned from Germany on Friday and was immediately arrested by the SIT at Bengaluru airport. A special court in the city sent him to police custody till June 6.
