Singapore In a surprise address at Asia's premier security summit in Singapore, President Volodymyr Zelensky warned on Sunday that China's support for Russia would prolong the conflict in Ukraine.
He was also urging countries in the Asia-Pacific region to attend a peace conference which he said Russia was attempting to disrupt. The international peace conference on Ukraine is scheduled to take place in Switzerland on June 15-16.
Zelensky said, "China's support for Russia will prolong the war. This is bad for the whole world and for China's policy – which declares that it supports territorial integrity and sovereignty and officially declares it Is.It's not good for them." during a press conference on the sidelines of the Shangri La Dialogue, according to CNN.
Zelensky made the comments during an unexpected visit to Singapore by defense chiefs from the US and China as well as other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
In remarks Sunday, Zelensky hinted at this support when he said some components of Russia's weapons "come from China," according to CNN.
Zelensky also issued a warning, claiming that China is aiding Russia in an effort to persuade nations not to attend the next international peace conference.“Russia is trying to disrupt the peace summit and it is true… (Russia) is now going around many countries in the world and threatening them with a blockade of agricultural goods, food products, chemical products. .. "It's just putting pressure on other countries in the world not to attend the summit," Zelensky said after speaking at a defense summit in Singapore, according to CNN.
Subsequently, when China's absence from a peace summit on Ukraine in Switzerland was questioned, Zelensky accused Russia of manipulating the gathering by sending Chinese diplomats.

During a discussion Friday, US defense chief Lloyd Austin brought up those exchanges with Dong and threatened to hold China accountable for any Chinese military aid to Russia.
