Hyderabad: Donnuru Ananya Reddy, who stood third in the Civil Services Examination 2023 and hails from Telangana's backward Mahabubnagar district, on Tuesday said he would like to take the administration closer to the people.

Reddy said she felt "extremely grateful" and happy to have secured the third position in the prestigious exam, the results of which were declared by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday.

Disagreeing that the Civil Services Examination is difficult, he said that however, it is a challenging examination and it is important to have a strategy for preparation.

Reddy said that she used to study 6-8 hours a day for the exams, but when the exams came closer, she increased her study hours to 12-14 hours.

"The most important thing is to have a strategy. If we have a strategy to divide the syllabus into parts and complete it in a time limit, it becomes easier to pass the exam," he told in the video.

"My only plan (after becoming a civil servant) is to take the administration closer to the people and work in a people-centric manner," he said.

On tips for civil services aspirants, Reddy said every examinee should prepare his/her plan as per his/her strengths and weaknesses, without following others.

He added, "Also, never give up. This exam is full of challenges, mentally as well as otherwise. So, stay calm and never give up."

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy congratulated the Civil Services Examination rankers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Revanth Reddy is happy that more than 50 candidates from both the states have been selected for the civil services, an official release said.

The Chief Minister, who also hails from Mahabubnagar district, lauded Anani Reddy for securing third rank in the civil services examination.
