CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Sunday assured efforts to set up a modern cricket stadium in Coimbatore.
His reaction on 'X' came after his cabinet colleague, Industries Minister TR Raja, filed a petition in this regard on social media platforms, demanding such a facility in the western hub.
“As a sports and cricket lover, I would like to add one more promise in your election manifesto for #Elections2024: We will strive to set up a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in Coimbatore, with the active participation of sports lovers.” People of #Coimbatore,” Stalin said.
"As underlined by our Minister @TRBRajaa, this stadium aims to become Tamil Nadu's second international-standard cricket venue after the iconic MAC Stadium in Chennai. Our government and Sports Minister @Udhaystalin are committed to nurturing talent and promoting the sport in Tamil Nadu. Committed to enhancing infrastructure." CM added.
