KHARDAH (WB), West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said she "will not accept" the Calcutta High Court order scrapping the OB status of several sections in the state.

He indicated that the government may challenge this order in the Supreme Court.

Addressing an election rally in Khardah under Dumdum Lok Sabha constituency, Banerjee said OBC reservation would continue in the state as the relevant bill was passed within the framework of the Constitution.

“The OBC reservation quota introduced by the West Bengal government will continue. We had drafted the bill after conducting a house-to-house survey, it was passed by the cabinet and the assembly,” she said.“If needed, we will move the higher court (against the order),” the TMC supremo said.

Citing the Calcutta High Court's May 20 order restraining the BJP from publishing advertisements violating the Model Code of Conduct, Banerjee claimed that such advertisements are continuously coming out and she is planning to file a Rs 1,000 crore lawsuit against the saffron party. Will file a defamation case.

Banerjee accused the BJP of conspiring to stop the OBC quota by using central agencies.

"Some people went to court, filed petitions for harming the interests of OBCs and then this incident happened. How can the saffron party have such audacity?" He said. The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday revoked the OBC status of several classes in West Bengal, finding such reservation under a 2012 Act for vacancies in services and posts in the state illegal.

He said that after the failure of its conspiracy in Sandeshkhali, BJP is now hatching a new conspiracy.

"You (BJP) are doing all this for vote politics, to remain in power for five years," he said.

This came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged that if the opposition Bharat faction comes to power in the Lok Sabha elections, it will scrap the quota for SC, ST and OBC people, Banerjee said.

He said, "SC, ST, OBC should get rights as per the Constitution. Minorities also have their rights. Can anyone say that he will make laws only for the benefit of Hindus and leave out Muslims and other communities?”

The TMC boss accused BJP of always doing politics of caste, religion and religion and dividing people."I will file a defamation suit of Rs 1,000 crore (against the BJP) for spreading lies about their achievements and making false allegations against me and my projects," he said. I have not taken even a single penny in my entire political career. And I will distribute the entire amount among the people.

Banerjee said the Modi government has looted the government treasury and deprived the poor of their dues under MNREGA.

He alleged that the BJP government had promised that every house will be illuminated with solar energy which is another lie.

“If it is to be realised, it will take 1000 years.Does BJP believe that I will live for 1000 years?” He asked.

Banerjee asked people not to vote for the CPI(M) and claimed that the party had killed hundreds of opposition workers during its 34-year rule.

“India Bloc will be established in New Delhi with the support of TMC, but in West Bengal CPIM and Congress are helping BJP.We are fighting alone,” she said
