Giridih (Jharkhand), Kalpana Soren, wife of former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, on Thursday said her husband's arrest was unexpected and came as a shock to JMM and the family.

In an exclusive conversation with Kalpana said that bowing down is not in the DNA of tribals and Hemant Soren will emerge stronger.

"We have full faith in the judiciary and we are waiting for Hemant to come out on bail and campaign for the Lok Sabha elections. He is innocent and has been implicated in a pre-planned conspiracy by the BJP-led government at the Centre." He said.

Kalpana, who has emerged as the new face of the party, termed BJP as a "tyrannical force", which is allegedly bent on torturing the opposition.

“How will the Constitution survive when you are arresting opposition leaders who work for the poor, tribals and Dalits. They (BJP) only lie. The 400+ slogans of the saffron party have raised the temperature here to above 400 degrees. The people of Jharkhand are angry against the BJP government and will uproot this tyrannical force that is plundering its rich mineral resources, he said.

Commenting on her husband being in jail for more than 90 days, Kalpana said, "My question is why all the actions of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) happen only in opposition-ruled states."

On the alleged rift in the family, Kalpana said, “There is complete unity.Heman ji's brother was there during my nomination for the Gandey by-election on April 29."

On her sister-in-law Sita Soren leaving the party, Kalpana said, "It was her decision to part ways with JMM and my best wishes are always with her."

Kalpana, 48, who is credited with injecting a new zeal among Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) workers after Soren's arrest earlier this year, said politics was never her choice but circumstances pushed her into it. Gave.

“I will fight against injustice and dictatorial forces because bowing down is not in my tribal DNA. I will follow in the footsteps of my husband. He preferred to put people in prison rather than compromise his values. I am his better half and will ensure that the forces of oppression are punished." A befitting reply," said Kalpana.

“My husband's arrest by the ED was politically motivated and part of a plan to force him to join the BJP. His arrest is part of a plan by the Central government to intimidate, threaten and humiliate him, but to give him a fair chance in the elections. Will get answer." ," He said.

Kalpana filed her nomination as JMM candidate for the Gandey Assembly by-election on 29 April. Voting for this seat is to be held on May 20 along with the parliamentary elections in the state.

The seat of Giridih district was vacant after the resignation of JMM ML Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Kalpana, a homemaker with MTech and MBA qualifications, completed her schooling from Baripada in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, and obtained her engineering and MBA degrees in Bhubaneswar.

His political journey began with the JM's 51st foundation day celebrations here on March 4, when he claimed that a conspiracy was hatched by his opponents since the Hemant Soren-led coalition government came to power in 2019.Hemant Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on January 31 in a money laundering case related to the alleged land scam.

Speculation about Kalpana's candidacy arose after Ahmed's resignation in December, with the BJP claiming it was to facilitate her candidature in case the ED had issued summons to her husband.

However, Hemant Soren had then dismissed the rumors of Kalpana contesting from Gandey and called it a fabricated story of BJP.
