Bengaluru, Senior BJP leader BS Yediyurappa on Saturday said he will appear before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on June 17 for questioning in connection with the POCSO case registered against him.

On reaching the city, the former Chief Minister said that people will teach a lesson to those plotting against him.

The Karnataka High Court on Friday restrained the CID from arresting Yediyurappa in the POCSO case.

It also directed the veteran BJP leader to appear before the CID probing the case on June 17.

“I had gone to Delhi for a pre-scheduled event.I had already informed in writing that I will be present for questioning on June 17. The High Court has ordered the CID to be stopped (from making arrests). I am appearing for an inquiry on Monday. Unnecessarily some tried to create confusion, I don't want to blame anyone, everyone knows the facts," Yediyurappa.

A court here on Thursday had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Yediyurappa in a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act on March 14 this year.

The CID special investigation team had moved the first fast track court seeking an arrest warrant against him as he did not appear for questioning on Wednesday.

According to the police, Yediyurappa has been booked under the POCSO Act and section 354 A (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) based on a complaint by the mother of the 17-year-old girl, who alleged that he had sexually assaulted her daughter. Was tampered with. During a meeting at his residence in Dollars Colony here on February 2 this year.

Yediyurappa denied the allegation and said he would fight the case legally.He has filed two separate petitions in the High Court demanding anticipatory bail and cancellation of the FIR.

The mother of the victim who had leveled allegations against Yediyurappa died of lung cancer at a private hospital here last month.

Earlier this week, the victim's brother had filed a petition in the court alleging that though the case was registered on March 14, there has been no progress in the investigation. The petitioner prayed the court to direct the police to arrest Yediyurappa and interrogate him.

After the Sadashivnagar police registered the case in March, Karnataka Director General of Police Alok Mohan had issued an order to transfer it to the CID for further investigation.In April, CID had called Yediyurappa to the office and taken his voice sample.
