Even though PM Modi's charisma and CM Adityanath's popularity remain BJP's mainstays in politics, BJP is adding factors to ensure that it maintains its successful performance in UP in the general elections.

The party knows that UP with 80 seats will play an important role in the formation of the next government at the Centre.

BJP workers are confident that CM Adityanath's growing stature as a Hindu leader, his tough image as an administrator and his omnipresent charisma will ensure a landslide victory for the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

After the 2022 assembly victory, it is the 'Yogi factor' that is working overtime in the by-elections and the recent municipal corporation elections to ensure a comprehensive victory for the BJP.

BJP in UP has only one strategy so far and that is to keep the cadre united for the elections and re-visit each booth regularly, especially after the decline in voting percentage in the first two phases."We have charismatic leaders like PM Modi and CM Yogi and all we have to do is stop our soldiers from becoming complacent. Our 'Panna Pramukhs' and 'Vistaraks' are at work and our leaders are working on those seats Where the party is, it seems comparatively weak,” said a party functionary.

Meanwhile, the BJP has already changed candidates on some seats to counter the anti-incumbency wave.

For the BJP, the tone of the campaign highlights the failures of opposition nepotism and corruption.

The fragmented opposition and BSP are forcing a triangular contest, making things easier for the saffron wave. The BJP is focusing on the 'Shramarthi' vote bank, of which minorities and Dalits form a large part.

"These are the groups that have benefited from the schemes of the central and state governments and we are reaching out to them. This is not a question of caste or religion, but of those who have not benefited," the part official said.

CM Adityanath's bulldozer campaign against the mafia for the middle class and upper castes is also a part of the party's election strategy.

“Traders and builders are no longer complaining about extortion and land is not being taken over by the mafia. It is being used to gain leverage in the campaign,” the official said.,

The BJP, despite the factors in its favour, is not allowing complacency to prevail.

The party has already brought back its estranged ally - Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) - and leaders like Dara Singh Chouhan, who left the party last year.

SBSP leader Rajbhar is now singing the song for the BJP, which is confident of making a dent in the OBC votes, especially in eastern UP.

The party's social media team has been reactivated to challenge the opposition and critics.

As far as star campaigners are concerned, BJP is not looking towards film stars or cricketers."Who needs celebrities when we have Modi and Yogi?" Asked the officer.
