New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday questioned the Center as to when it will investigate crores of rupees given to the BJP through electoral bonds by the companies of accused who have turned government witnesses in the excise policy case.

No immediate response could be received from BJP on this issue.

Senior AAP leader and Delhi minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the companies that approved the excise duty policy case paid crores of rupees to the BJP through electoral bonds.

He asked, "When will the BJP-led central government investigate the money openly given to the party through electoral bonds by the accused who have turned approver in the excise policy case?"

Bhardwaj said at a press conference, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been made an accused by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the excise policy case without any evidence, recovery or movement of money.

He asked, "But when will the ED make the BJP an accused because it is clear that it received money from the accused in the case through electoral bonds and its money has been traced."

Bhardwaj claimed that the BJP received several thousand crore rupees through electoral bonds from various companies, against some of which investigations were initiated by the ED and the Income Tax (IT) department.

Citing the names of various companies, he claimed that due to the investigation and raids, big companies paid crores of rupees to the BJP through electoral bonds.
