The 2021 T20 World Cup champions unveiled their squad for the 20-over showcase on Wednesday, and one of the biggest surprises was the absence of Fraser-McGurk and former captain Steve Smit from the group of 15 players.

Fraser-McGurk has been in great form for Delhi Capitals in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) and has scored three half-centuries so far. Many believe that the right-hander has demonstrated enough of his abilities to be selected for the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and USA, starting on June 1.

"Zacky is an outstanding talent. I think you know he has taken the IPL by storm the way he has been playing, they are all loving him and of course, Delhi Crew is enjoying his company. And he is enjoying what he brings to the team."There's no doubt he has a huge future wherever he plays," Marsh said on Australian radio station SEN.

Fraser-McGurk has scored 259 runs so far in IPL 2024, with the 22-year-old finishing sixth in terms of most runs in the event with 23 appearances across six innings for DC.

"But we feel we've covered all the bases with our team. Headey and Davey Warner have been fantastic for us, not just over a long period of time, but over the last 18 months, in the build-up to this (T20) World Cup. We are really comfortable that hopefully we have got the right 15 players to take us to the (T20 World Cup).,

Asked if he expected Fraser-McGurk to be thrust into Australia's white-ball team immediately after the World Cup, Marsh said, "Oh, yes, no doubt."

"He has come on very fast. There is a huge amount of talent which has been identified from an early age. We saw glimpses of that in the Big Bash this year and you know the IPL is a tough tournament."

“You can't take a step back and he certainly plays high cricket that way.He has an exciting future."
