Murshidabad (West Bengal) [India]: A clash broke out between CPI(M) candidate from Murshidabad Mohammad Salim and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters at the polling booth in Domkal in Murshidabad Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday during the third phase of voting. , Mohammad Salim said, "People are being intimidated and threatened. Police officers themselves do this. Even on the day of voting, voters are being stopped and threatened and the goons are saying that if you If you vote, we will see you at night, this is a rule." No one can enter within 200 meters of the polling booth, but slogans are being raised here. Some TMC supporters standing near the polling booth raised 'go back' slogans against CPI(M) candidate MD Saleem. On Murshidabad seat, there is a triangular contest between Abu Taher Khan (Trinamool Congress), Bharatiya Janata Party's Gauri Shankar Ghosh and M. Salim of CPI(M) Earlier, BJP candidate from Jangipur Lok Sabha constituency of Murshidabad, Dhananjay Ghosh, had a clash with the block president of the ruling TM on Tuesday. Speaking to ANI on Tuesday, Dhananjay Ghosh said, 'I was visiting the booth. BJP candidate and TMC block president threatened me.If a candidate made such an open threat, one can imagine the condition of the common people in the state. We will lodge a complaint with the Election Commission regarding this incident. Elections in Murshidabad are nothing new, clashes and deaths have occurred in all panchayat elections in the district since 2003. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, All India Trinamool Congress won Jangipu and Murshidabad Lok Sabha constituencies, with West Bengal still leading with 49.27 percent voting. Goa is nearing polling percentage with 49.04 per cent voting taking place till 1 pm in the third phase of voting, according to data provided by the Election Commission of India.
