Rijiju told ANI that the country wants to see a vibrant democracy through very good debate and discussion in Parliament and the government will work with the opposition parties.

The minister said that in the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha, oath will be taken by the members, the Speaker will be elected and President Draupadi Murmu will address the joint meeting of both the Houses of Parliament.

"We want to start the 18th Lok Sabha on a positive note. The first session which is the special session of the 18th Lok Sabha has been decided and President Murmu has called for the commencement of the House on June 24.What is important now is the tradition of first administering the oath to the newly elected members and electing the Speaker of the Lok Sabha in the session and then the President's address to both the Houses of Parliament."

"It is going to be very important for all of us that after the elections we are coming together for the first time, my appeal to all the members, to all the political parties is that let us work together as Team India, let us get the job done. It's done. It has to be done for our country," he said.

Rijiju said that he will work under the guidance of the Speaker and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha and both the government and the opposition have an important role in this.

“For me, as the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, I have to coordinate with all the political parties, with the House management and the guidance of the Rajya Sabha Chairman and the Lok Sabha Speaker and the guidance of the Prime Minister, we have to work very closely together in a coordinated manner, '' They said.
