Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf said they played well as a team, following his team's seven-wicket win over Canada in the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York [USA].

Rauf took two wickets for 26 runs at an economy rate of 6.50 in his four over spell. He also became the fastest bowler to take 100 wickets in T20.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Rauf said that he tried to minimize the mistakes he made in his previous matches.

“We played good cricket as a team.Obviously, you make mistakes and look at those mistakes and then obviously we try to minimize the mistakes that we've made. We have T20 players, and we believe in ourselves. We will try to play good cricket in the future," said Rauf.

He said that winning is important to decide the direction of the tournament.He also expressed hope that they will win in the coming matches.

"Yes, you know how important it is to win. You have to set a rhythm in any tournament, we won the match, we are focused on our game and hopefully we will win the next match. And no matter what happens "If we qualify, God willing, we will qualify and we will play good cricket in the future," he said.

Recounting the match, Pakistan won the match and elected to bowl first.Canada's Aaron Johnson (52 off 44 balls, 4 fours and 4 sixes) helped them post 106/7 on the scoreboard in the first innings.

Mohammad Amir and Haris Rauf led Pakistan's bowling attack and both took two wickets each in their respective spells.

During the run chase, Mohammad Rizwan (53* off 53 balls, 2 fours and 1 six) played a brilliant innings and helped Pakistan get its first win of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Dillon Heiliger led the Canadian bowling attack after taking two wickets.
