New Delhi [India]: Reacting to his viral photo with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday said the two of them greeted each other and Nitish called him to sit with him.

"We greeted each other, I was allotted a seat behind him, but he saw me and called me to sit with him," Tejashwi said.

Meanwhile, key leaders of NDA and India Bloc reached Delhi today to attend their respective meetings.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu were among the NDA leaders visiting Delhi.

Coincidentally, Nitish Kumar and his former aide and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav were seen flying to Delhi in the same plane.

After the NDA meeting, in the resolution passed by the NDA leaders in Delhi, the alliance leaders unanimously elected Narendra Modi as their leader.

The participation of Naidu and Nitish Kumar in the NDA meeting is an important step as support from their parties is crucial for the BJP to form the government.

India Block meeting is currently going on at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

BJP won 240 seats, which is much less than 303 seats in 2019. Congress, on the other hand, registered a strong growth by winning 99 seats. India Block crossed the 230 mark, posing tough competition and defying all predictions.

Meanwhile, following the recommendation of the Union Cabinet, President Draupadi Murmu dissolved the 17th Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

"The President, on June 5, 2024, accepted the advice of the Cabinet and signed the Order dissolving the 17th Lok Sabha in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Article 85 of the Constitution," a statement said " This was said in a statement issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday.
