The interaction took place at SKICC on Thursday before the Prime Minister addressed the 'Empower Youth, Transform J&K' programme. Several businesswomen were among those who interacted with the prime minister.

A businesswoman whose StartUp produces feed and feed supplements for livestock told the Prime Minister that she has 22 products in her portfolio.

The businesswoman told Modi that her one-year-old StartUp has so far produced 500 tonnes of food and earned Rs 1 million.

When the prime minister asked the entrepreneur if she would prioritize her doctorate, which she is pursuing, or the StartUp, she responded that she was inspired by him and would focus on both.

Another entrepreneur, Sheela Imran Bandh, a microbiologist from Kachkoot village in Pulwama in south Kashmir, told the prime minister that the women of her village are very skilled and she uses her skills to create handicraft products. she. She told him that 20 women artisans are working with her.

When the Prime Minister asked her about marketing her products, Bandh said that she has an e-commerce website.

Modi asked her about microbiology, to which she replied that there is not much "influence" of microbiology in her village and she had to take the entrepreneurial route to give something back to the society.

Another entrepreneur said that he started online taking inspiration from Modi's dream of Digital India. The owner of StartUp 'Just Order', which makes food products like jams and honey, told Modi that he sources the ingredients locally.

"We also offer a guarantee like 'Modi ki guarantee' for our products. We offer a money-back guarantee," the businessman told the prime minister, who was all smiles.

A startup dealing in lavender products told Modi that 2,500 farmers are associated with it and was encouraged by the Prime Minister's monthly radio show 'Mann Ki Baat' when he spoke about the prospects of lavender cultivation.

Insha Qazi, a business graduate from London, who set up a 'Cheese Cottage' homestay at Tangmarg near the famous ski resort of Gulmarg in 2021, informed Modi that her effort is to have around 90 per cent of workers.

At another stall, a curious Prime Minister asked the owner of J-K's first public e-bike sharing startup how many bikes he had and how many places they had installed the bikes that are available for rent.

The company has completed 40,000 trips in just one year with 100 bikes at 12 locations, Modi was told.

When asked by the Prime Minister about the average distance a person travels on a bicycle, she replied 13 km.

Modi's queries did not end there. She shot one more. "Do foreign tourists do the bike tours or are they just locals?"

The businessman said that both types of tourists rent their bicycles and the recent tourism boom in the valley has helped them a lot.
