New Delhi [India]: People were seen queuing up in different parts of the national capital on Wednesday to fetch water from tankers as they face water shortage amid the scorching heat.

Morning scenes from Kusumpur Pahari in southwest Delhi's Vasant Vihar to East Delhi's Geeta Colony and southeast Delhi's Okhla showed people standing in queues, holding cans and buckets and crowding around water tankers.

Amid rising temperatures, these scenes have become a daily occurrence in many areas of the national capital since the summer season began this year.

Sanjay Camp in Chanakyapuri, Geeta Colony in East Delhi, Patel Nagar, Mehrauli and Chhatarpur are some of the areas in the national capital that are affected by the severe water crisis.
