After his team's 41-run win over Namibia in the T20 World Cup 2024 match in St. George [Antigua and Barbuda], England batsman Harry Brook said he was just trying to hit boundaries and hit the ball in the gap for doubles. Kept pushing in.

Brook was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten innings of 47 runs in 20 balls at a strike rate of 235.00. He hit 4 fours and 2 sixes during his time at the crease.

Speaking after the match, Brook revealed that he had not considered whether he would play or not due to the persistent rain. The young player said that he just tried to stay at the crease."There was a lot of anxiety around, we just didn't think we were going to get out there. Thankfully the rain stopped and we got the game. I just tried to hang in there. I was trying to hit boundaries," Brooke said. Said, "I was just flicking it in the gaps and scoring two runs, in the end I lost but I am happy I got some runs."

He also praised Jonny Bairstow for his explosive innings in the first innings of the match."He (Bairstow) was just hitting, he was trying to hit it. He had a few dot balls and I tried to take it as a positive because I knew he was going to try and hit it. He was going to hit some sixes after those dot balls, he batted brilliantly there.”

To recap the match, the toss was delayed due to rain disruption. Later the game was reduced to 10 overs.Namibia won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Philip Salt and Jos Buttler failed to give England a great start and both the openers were out by the third over. Jonny Bairstow and Harry Brook helped the Three Lions make a better comeback after adding some crucial runs on the scoreboard.

Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone played explosive innings in the death overs and took England to 122/5.

Trumpelman led the Namibian bowling attack and took two wickets for 31 runs in his two-over spell.

During the run chase, Michael van Lingen and Nicholas Devlin gave a strong start to the depleted team.Everything was going well for Namibia but things changed after Devin left the crease with an injury.

David Wiese tried to keep Namibia in the lead but the all-rounder was dismissed by Jofra Archer in the 10th over as England sealed a crucial 41-run win in the T20 World Cup.

Jofra Archer and Chris Jordan were the only wicket-takers for England in the second innings.

England are now second in Group B with five points, followed by Scotland who also have 5 points. Australia top the table with three wins from three matches.
