Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat cast his vote at a polling booth in Dehradun on Friday for the Lok Sabha elections in the state. Voting is going on on five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand. With the BJP hoping to retain all the seats and the Congress attempting to regain lost momentum in the state, Harish Rawat's son Virendra Rawat is the Congress candidate from Haridwar. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also cast his vote along with his mother and wife at Nagara Terai polling station in Khatima. They stood in the queue and waited for their turn. Dhami expressed his happiness after the voting and said that there is tremendous enthusiasm among the people. After casting his vote at a polling booth in Haridwar in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev said he exercised his franchise to make the country disease and illness free. In the 2014 and 2019 elections, BJP won all the five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand. Voting on 102 seats in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections started at 7 am.
