State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) office sources said the final voting percentage would be available only on Thursday morning after the completion of tabulation of reports coming from various polling stations.

According to sources, the final average voting percentage is expected to be more than 70 percent, which is a satisfactory figure.

Till 5 pm, Raiganj in North Dinajpur district recorded the highest turnout of 67.12 per cent, followed by Ranaghat-South in Nadia district at 65.37 per cent and Bagda in North 24 Parganas district at 51.39 per cent.

The lowest voting percentage till 5 pm was recorded at 51.39 in Maniktala, Kolkata.

Sources in the CEO office said this is typical for any election in West Bengal where the voting percentage in rural and semi-urban areas is much higher than in metro areas.

Sources further said that till 5 pm the highest voting percentage was recorded in Raiganj. Was the least upset all day. Maximum complaints of violence were registered from Ranaghat-South followed by Bagda. Although the voting process in Maniktala remained more or less peaceful in the first half, tension increased in the latter part of the day.

Counting of votes will take place on July 13.

According to the 2021 assembly election results and assembly-wise results in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, the BJP was comfortably ahead in Raiganj, Ranaghat South and Bagda, while the Trinamool Congress was slightly ahead in Maniktala.
