Madrid, Paris Olympics-bound top Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat reached the final of the women's 50kg category at the Spain Grand Prix here on Saturday.

Vinesh, who obtained the Schengen visa at the last minute on Wednesday, entered the finals by winning three matches without any difficulty.

In the final to be held later in the day, Vinesh will face former Russian wrestler Maria Tiumarekova, who is now competing as an individual neutral athlete.

The 29-year-old World Championship medalist earlier defeated Cuba's Yusnelis Guzman 12-4 on points. She then registered a win in the quarterfinals against 2022 Commonwealth Games silver medalist Madison Parks of Canada in the quarterfinals.

In the semi-finals Vinesh defeated another Canadian player Katie Dutchak 9-4 on points.

After her training-cum-competition stint in Spain, Vinesh will travel to France for a 20-day training stint to prepare for the Paris Olympics.
