Kolkata, Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee said on Sunday that any victory requires humility and responsible behavior.

“Victory requires humility and grace. I request all @AITC official leaders and members to recognize the trust that the people of West Bengal have reposed in us and try to respect it,” the nephew of TMC MP and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in the post.
In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, TMC won 29 out of total 42 seats in West Bengal.Banerjee, who won the Diamond Harbor Lok Sabha seat by a margin of over 7 lakh votes, a record for West Bengal, said, “Elected public representatives have been entrusted with their posts because of the mandate of the people and they should work more responsibly. "
Though Banerjee, de facto number two in the TMC hierarchy, did not name any elected representative or cite any incident, her message comes ahead of the controversy over the alleged assault of a restaurant owner by actor-turned-TMC MLA Soham Chakraborty. There was a dispute over car parking two days ago in New Town near Kolkata.

“Very scary. TMC MLA Soham Chakraborty violently assaults a restaurant employee, pulls him by the collar and has his goons beat up others in New Town...Mamata Banerjee's police will do nothing because in West Bengal, the law is against ruling party goons Is under,” BJP said.
“This rogue behavior is emblematic of why TMC henchmen feel emboldened to continue committing violence after the elections.The silence and inaction of the state is a green signal for atrocities,” the party said in the X post.
Chakraborty expressed "regret for any misbehavior on his part" and claimed that the restaurant owner did not make public the other CCTV footage, which allegedly showed the businessman abusing and pushing the actor-MLA at the party. He has been shown using abusive words about senior BJP leader Abhishek Banerjee.
“The provocation from their side happened when I went to the spot after hearing that their employees were not allowing our vehicles to go there and wanted to mediate. This scene should also be brought into the public domain by him” he said.
On June 7, the saffron party had also criticized a state TMC leader for his remarks on "non-violent means of revenge" after an X user posted a purported image of garbage thrown in front of a high-rise building in North Kolkata. In which it was claimed that this was done after doing so.More than 500 people from the housing society voted against TMC and for BJP.
