They also recorded a resounding 10-wicket win in the single Test before leveling the three-match T20I series at 1-1 when the second game was washed out due to rain in Chennai.
Ahead of the pressure match against Pakistan, Harmanpreet said that as a team they should focus on their game and not on other parameters of the clash.
"When you play against Pakistan, there is a different atmosphere in both countries. Both countries want their team to win. As players, we have a lot of pressure. But as a leader, it is my responsibility to make my team feel light in that environment, so that they don't think that we are playing against Pakistan or that it is a pressure match. For me it will be important to make everyone feel that this is just another game for the team and make the team win. Apart from thinking about what is happening in the stadium, Who are the other people rooting for? Who are they talking about? Don't think about the main things we can't control," Harmanpreet told Star Sports.
"The kind of approach we have now, every day when we go to play the games, we give the same importance to every game. We are all very eager to win every game, and that is something we believe should be in a team , and this is what everyone on the team feels," he added.
India batter Jemimah Rodrigues said the team atmosphere is positive and they are preparing well towards the common goal of winning all the games of the tournament.
"The enthusiasm is really high, and that's always been the scene. It's a nice feeling, but more than that, it's very inspiring to know that every time we go out on the field, we know that we have the support of every person who has our back. "You know, a lot of times we visualize that and we go on the field, so imagine the confidence and motivation we have to win every game," he said.
"It's just about how well we prepare instead of thinking too much about the future. As far as results, it's always about preparation. So I think this is the mentality now. We know that if we prepare well, we will come out and do it well," Rodrigues added.
Talking about the excitement of playing in the Women's Asia Cup 2024, all-rounder Deepti Sharma said, “This is the kind of tournament that players look forward to because it is a big tournament. Our only goal is to perform well as a team and we will support each other so that we can perform well on the field in the upcoming matches.”
