New Delhi: Mining giant Vedanta Ltd on Wednesday reported growth in production of aluminium, zinc, iron ore and steel in the June quarter.

However, foreign mined metals and oil and gas production declined during the quarter.

Vedanta said in a filing to BSE, the company said aluminum production in the first quarter rose 3 per cent to 5,96,000 tonnes from a year earlier.

The production of salable metal at Zinc India increased from 2,60,000 tonnes to 2,62,000 tonnes.

While production of the mined metal at Zinc International fell to 38,000 tonnes in Q1FY24 from 68,000 tonnes.

Meanwhile, oil and gas production fell 17 percent during the quarter to 112,400 average daily gross operated production (boepd) from 134,900 boepd a year ago.

Marketable iron ore production rose to 1.3 million tonnes from 1.2 million tonnes in the year-ago period.

Total salable steel production rose 10 per cent to 3,56,000 tonnes and power sales rose 13 per cent to 4,791 million units from 4,256 million units in the April-June period of the previous fiscal.
