New Delhi: Ved Lahoti from Delhi zone has topped the IIT entrance exam JEE-Advanced by scoring 355 marks out of 360, the highest so far, officials said on Sunday.

The previous high was 352 in 2022.

According to IIT Madras, which conducted the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Advanced this year, Dwija Dharmeshkumar Patel from IIT Bombay Zone is the topper among women candidates with 332 marks. His all India rank is seven.

Four of the top 10 rank holders are from IIT Madras.The second rank has been given to Aditya (Delhi Zone) and the third position has been given to Bhogalpalli Sandesh (Madras Zone).

Rhythm Kedia (IIT Roorkee Zone), Putti Kushal Kumar (IIT Madras), Rajdeep Mishra (IIT Bombay Zone), Koduri Tejeshwar (IIT Madras Zone), Dhruvi Hemant Doshi (IIT Bombay Zone) and Alladabona SSDB Sidhvik Suhas (IIT Madras Zone). , has secured the next rank in the same order.

The highest number of candidates have passed from IIT Madras Zone, followed by IIT Delhi Zone and IIT Bombay Zone. Of the top 500 candidates, 145 are from IIT Madras region, followed by 136 from IIT Bombay region and 122 from IIT Delhi region.

A total of seven foreign candidates have qualified the exam, while 179 Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) have also cleared it.Explaining the criteria for inclusion in the rank list, a senior IIT Madras official said, "The total marks will be calculated as the sum of the marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates will be required subject-wise with- Along with this, the total marks also have to be completed. The qualifying marks will be included in the rank list."

A total of 1,80,200 candidates appeared in both the papers in IIT-JEE Advanced, out of which 48,248, including 7,964 women, have qualified.

JEE-Main, which is the entrance exam for engineering colleges across the country, is the qualifying exam for JEE-Advanced.The examination was held on 26 May.

Joint Seat Allocation (JoSAA) counseling will start from Monday.
