Haridwar, There was heavy rain in Haridwar on Saturday afternoon and many cars were washed away due to flooding in the Sukhi river.

Rain water entered houses and major roads of the pilgrimage city were submerged.

Since dry rivers generally remain dry during the rainy season, people habitually park their vehicles on dry river beds.

As the river suddenly flooded, cars were washed away in the strong water. At a short distance the river joins the main stream of Ganga.

People gathered on the bridges over the Ganga near Har Ki Pauri to capture the scenes of floating cars on mobile cameras.
