He said that it should be ensured that students passing out from government technical institutes get maximum campus placements. Appropriate arrangements should be made for modern courses and modern equipment in technical institutions as per the needs of industrial institutions.

The Chief Minister said that clear data should be maintained as to what percentage of youth trained from technical institutes got employment and what percentage took admission in higher educational institutions. After getting technical education, the youth of the state should be provided with adequate employment opportunities in the state itself, so that they do not have to go out of the state for employment. Plumber, electrician, welding and other mechanical training should also be provided for skill development of youth in the state.

It was told in this meeting that in the last three years, 6490 youth have got employment and self-employment through Polytechnic, 369 in government sector and 552 youth have got employment and self-employment through Polytechnic under Community Development Scheme.

According to the Chief Minister's Office, in the next one year, with the help of IIT Roorkee, training will be provided by setting up virtual labs in various government polytechnic institutes. Uttarakhand State Career Counseling Center will be established. Unemployed youth will be linked to business by developing polytechnic institutions as service providers.
