Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], As counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections will begin on June 4, Kanpur Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Harish Chander said three-tier security arrangements have been made. Around 3,000 police personnel have been deployed at various centres.

Speaking to ANI, Harish Chander said, "There are tight security preparations for the counting day. Three-tier arrangements have been made in which two companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and one company of Territorial Armed Constabulary (PAC) " Has been deployed."

He further said, "Around 3000 police officers have been deployed. We have also deployed people to keep an eye on social media."

Elaborating on the security measures taken on the result day, the top police officer said, "We have informed all the candidates that no victory procession of any kind will be taken out due to the imposition of Section 144. Candidates and their associated People will join in." After being provided passes and thorough checking, they will be allowed to enter the premises where counting of votes will take place.

Meanwhile, Kanpur Police Commissionerate met Ax and informed about various measures taken for counting of votes.

''As per the instructions of the Election Commission, 3000 police personnel along with three companies of CAPF/PAC have been deployed for security arrangements to conduct safe counting of votes in the Lok Sabha General Election-2024. A traffic advisory has been issued. A help desk has been set up at the counting venue to coordinate with the media, the police commissionerate said. Cold drinking water and other necessary arrangements have been made for the administration, security personnel and all those involved in counting of votes.'' A post on X.

The post further reads, "Section 144 is in force in the Commissionerate, hence the ban on victory processions, demonstrations etc. continues. Social media is being closely monitored."
