The program, open to third- and fourth-year medical students, offers a unique opportunity to delve into specialized areas of research with the guidance of skilled robotic surgeons, the foundation said in a statement.

Mahendra Bhandari, CEO of Vattikuti Foundation, said, “'Vattikuti Explorers' goes beyond traditional medical education as I provide students with hands-on training, exposure to advanced surgical techniques and the opportunity to connect with leading innovators in various medical fields. "

'Explorers' will have access to world-renowned medical experts in their field who, as mentors, will continue to guide and support them throughout their early careers.

The eight selected 'Explorers' will participate in a three-day immersion program at the Orsi Academy at the Fair in Belgium (from 19-21 August).

They will also participate in the symposium 'Humans at the Cutting Edge of Robotic Surgery' in Jaipur on February 14-16, 2025, featuring presentations from global experts in robotic surgery.

The foundation said that after completion of the master's programme, the 'Explorers' will be eligible to be considered for a one-year paid fellowship in various fields such as gynaecology, urology and surgical oncology in India.
