Kokrajhar (Assam), Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Pramod Boro claims his party UPPL is working to clear "misunderstandings" among non-Bodo voters about alleged discrimination against them by the dominant tribal community in Assam. Still working.

Boro claimed that there has been a lot of bloodshed in the region in the past, but after his party formed the government in BTC in 2020, things started changing and attention was paid to sensitive issues. Boro said that apart from focusing on Kokrajhar, UPPL is also working closely with allies BJP and AGP to ensure the victory of the ruling alliance candidates.The BJP has nine MPs in the outgoing Lok Sabha from the state, while the UPPL and AGP have no representation. Three seats were held by Congress, one by AIUD and one by Saraniya as an independent.

Kokrajhar, along with three other constituencies, will go to polls in the third and final phase in the state on May 7. Five seats each had gone to polls in the first two phases in the state on April 19 and 26.
